Bullying ends here powerful message

It takes a certain kind of person to effect meaningful change. Tad Milmine is one such person. In October 2011, Milmine read an article entitled “Ottawa Teen Takes His Own Life Because of Severe Bullying”. So moved was Milmine by the article he decided to do something about it and started Bullying Ends Here. Since then, Milmine has spoken to entire schools and communities and last year alone presented to more than 100,000 people across the country. He received more than 15,000 emails and has responded to each and every one.

Award-winning comedian, television personality, political satirist and author Rick Mercer ranted on his show This Hour Has 22 Minutes about the tragic suicide of Ottawa teen Jamie Hubley. Mercer, like Milmine, is a passionate advocate on the importance of acceptance of all-regardless of sexual orientation.  How befitting then for Mercer to be the special guest of honour at  the recent Intimate Evening With Rick Mercer in support of Bullying Ends Here. That this night just happened to coincide with the release of Milmine’s book Bullying Ends Here-My Story proved the perfect pairing. That 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to the Bullying Ends Here Charity speaks volumes as to Milmine’s passion and dedication to the cause. Thank you Tad for making such a positive difference to those who would otherwise feel alone.
